World Card Making Day Promotion

Hi Everyone,

Things are busy in our house today with Charlotte turning 3 and a fairy party this arvo! I can hardly believe how quickly these last 3 years have gone! So today I'm just stopping by to tell you about a couple of great promos from Stampin' Up this month.

Firstly, to celebrate World Card Making Day, if you purchase a Simply Sent Card Elements kit, you can get 20% off the coordinating stamp set – and even better there's no limit if you want to buy more than 1!

The second promo is for any potential demonstrators... Its the Stampin' Up Breast Cancer Awareness Promotion

For over 20 years, Stampin' Up! has helped women make a difference in the lives of others by simply doing what they love to do--sharing creativity.
Now you too can become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and make a difference! For every person who joins the Stampin' Up! family between 7 October and 31 December 2009, we will donate $5 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (AU) or The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Plus, until 31 December 2009, we'll give you a FREE pack of Raspberry Tart Designer Series paper and a Pretty in Pink Classic Stampin' Pad to help you get started!

So, if you would like any further info on either of these promos, please leave a comment or send me an email :)

And when all the fairies have left and the house has been restored to something resembling a neat house, I'm hoping to hit the craft room and have lots to show you over the coming week. Especially, seeing as my hubby has a week off so fingers crossed for a lot to be done both in the craft room, around the house and lots of things out and about in the forecasted sunshine this week!  Ahhh a girl can dream can't she :)

Urban Garden Gift Set

Hi Everyone,

Here's a set of 2 cards and matching box I taught at a workshop on the wkend...

The stamped verse says "You only live once but if you do it right, once is enough"

I've used the Urban Garden Designer Papers; Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Whisper White and Not Quite Navy card and ink. The flowers are all from the Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set and I've also added white grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals to make the cards 'pop' and a filagree brad on the last card.

The box is deep enough to fit 5 cards + envelopes so it would be a great gift idea & I'm going to make some ready for Christmas.

If you would like any further info, please email me or leave a comment :)

Fairy Punch Art

Hi All,
This is a busy time in Stampin' with Richelle land cos here's another post! Woohoo!! I'm sure I'm setting some records this week. lol :)
Ok, I've been trying all week to use Makeesha's Inkspirations Colour Challenge #12 and whilst I've had a few ideas, the 1 I'm about to show you is my favourite!!

I've been doing some searching for a fairy picture to use on Charlotte's 3rd b'day invites and came across this punch art fairy on a blog and I've traced the idea back to Samantha. I've changed the colours of my fairy to suit Makeesha's colour challenge. And I've used different sized circles for my fairy's head and body, and using the small circle punch, I've given my fairy a headband... awww......I've also doubled my fairy's wings and then covered them in dazzling diamonds.

And here's a pic of the card from the side so you can see my faux embossing of the regal rose love hearts...

Now the task is to make a whole heap of these over the wkend to hand out to Charlotte's friends. Maybe I will be able to rope in Lee to help with the punching out.

Hope you like my fairy as much as I do!! And if you would like any more details, please email me or leave a comment.  :D

Mojo Monday #103

Hi,

Here's a quick card I made for Mojo Monday #103.... I cased the idea for the tree from a video tutorial on a rare trip to Youtube on the weekend. Here's the link if you are interested.

Obviously, my folding technique needs a little more practice to become neater and crisper, but I just was so excited to actually create a mojo monday card within a day of the challenge being posted!
Very unlike me! lol :)

Menu Toolbar

Hi All,

After a bit of fiddling around, I think I've got a small menu toolbar working across the top of my blog... You'll have to excuse several extras posts today but I couldn't seem to set up the toolbar without posting these extras...
Over the coming weeks, I hope to expand it with more options so check back soon and let me know what you think :)

And I've also (hopefully) added a link where you can subscribe to my blog... Or you can email a particular post to a friend by clicking on the little envelope icon at the bottom of each post.

Fingers double crossed this all works!!!! Lol

Thanks for looking, Richelle

A little mojo this Father's Day

Hi Everyone, Happy Father's Day!! I was trying to do a timed post today, but seeing as hubby is still in bed I thought I'd check my blog and thus found out it hadn't worked.... mmmm more reserach required lol Anyway, this is 1 of 3 cards I needed to make this year for Father's Day. I've dusted off an old stamp set called Loads of Love and combined it with some Baja Breeze & Whisper White card and some matching Designer series papers. The layout is from Mojo Monday. I've also used some dimensionals to raise the truck image off the card and absolutely loved the convenience of my snail adhesive for sticking all the 1" squares down lol :)

Stamp Camp Swaps

A couple of weekends ago, I was given a day pass away from the family to go to a stamp camp arranged by another S/Up demo, Andrea. I could only go for a day BUT it was a whole day of stamping and swapping cards with the other ppl on camp. I invited Mum to come along too so it was a good chance to chat with her and the other ladies at the camp. Our pre-camp challenge was to create a showbox swap which is where we have to design a card and then have the kits and everything avail for anyone else to make at the camp. This is a quick pic of some of the swaps

And this is the swap that I made...

The bauble image in the middle (on the Very Vanilla card) spins round... Hence the 2 photos to show you each side. The Real Red bauble is outlined with Dazzling Diamonds and is mounted on Dimensionals. It proved to be a popular card on the day, which I was very astonished at but very pleased as I had serious doubts about the card all week before! Stamps used: "Tree Trimmings" $24.95 from the Spring Mini Catty "Best yet" - Hostess Rewards 2009-10 "Its Beautiful" Wheel Card: Handsome Hunter, Real Red & Very Vanilla.... I love my traditional Chrissy colours :) Oh, and you may notice that I've also been playing and created my 'watermark' for all my photos... Just trying to keep up with the trends and also promote myself some more (or some ppl call it blowing my own horn lol).

My Spring Mini THANK YOU!!

Hi Everyone, Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that was able to attend my inaugral Spring Mini Catalogue Launch Party on Sat... I hope you all enjoyed yourselves as I sure did :) For those that weren't able to make it, I thought I'd show you some pics of what we made... These cards and the little box were all stamped with the Forest Friends Set (at only $24.95 its a bargain but bursting with cute!! ~ lol) Anyway, this is the set that all my guests walked away with: This card was CASED from the Spring Mini Catalogue but I did make 3 changes... 1) the word 'friends' 2) the ribbon 3) the flower brad This card I designed myself and we used the lace eyelet punch.. What a great way to add a little extra details and like all the S/Up punches, its so easy to use! This little box was filled with goodies and is a perfect fit for storing the little notecards we made. The ribbon to open the box is simply looped through a jumbo eyelet (set by my crop-a-dile - what a splurge but oh so handy!!! see page 155 of your 2009-10 IBC) The idea for the box was from Lee-Anne, when she showed me how to make a 'pizza box' for notecards (it was quite a while ago, but I still have my tart & tangy box and cards Lee-Anne! And I still luv it) And these were 2 extra cards I designed as I was so in the zone last week. I was feeling a little blah lately but this project has given me a boost and a timely reminder that I can be creative and productive! Being a stay at home mum you sometimes forget there is a person behind all the washing and cleaning lol :P
If you would like to have a go at making these cards, I am happy to offer them as a lesson, just email me and we can work out the details.

Well I had a great afternoon with some of my S/Up demo friends today.. Thanks girls :D
Anyway this is a pic of my swap card for the day... Lee-Anne set us the challenge of using Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss and Red Riding Hood. I wasn't sure where to start with these colours but am pretty happy with the final result!
First of all I had this, which I wasn't very happy with...
So I stepped my card by added a some extra layers of card, some shading and changed the size of the card to make:

Baby Bundles

Hi All, Lately I've taken to reading a website by Andrea Walford, a Canadian S/Up demo... One of the recent tutorials was for a baby card and this is version I made.

I've used a stencil cutter for the oval shape and my S/Up circle punch to make the face. The card colour is Ballet Blue and I've sponged the clouds in Whisper White ink. The face and highlights have been freehand with the Black S/Up marker and I've added a little Crystal Effects too.

Now don't go too far, as there's more S/Up news to come! I've just used up my quota of tv entertainment for the girls this morning so I'm off to play mum for a while - lol :) Thanks for looking, Richelle

Mojo Monday #87 and a Win for me!

Hi Everyone,
Well, last week I was extremely lucky to win some blog candy from Makeesha, a WA based SU demonstrator who creates some fantastic and mind blowing cards and was recently a presenter at the SU Convention in Canberra. (Check out her website here). My reaction was: "Gulp... I've won!!??" as normally I don't tend to win things and was even more surprised when I saw what I had won...
I won't keep you in suspense any longer... the prize was the Fifth Avenue Stamp set which is one I ummmed and ahhhed about buying, so a BIG MASSIVE thank you to Keesh for the prize and it will be put to some good use over the coming months lol :P
Well, today I received the stamp set and have put it straight to work catching up on my Mojo Monday challenges. Here's a couple that I've done tonite with Fifth Ave & the Best yet Hostess sets.
Supplies: Card - Pink pirouette (NEW In Colour), Baja breeze (NEW In Colour) & Very vanilla; Urban Garden Designer Series Paper; Rhinestone Brads (NEW); Scallop Edge Punch
Don't look too closely at the circles on this card.. I didn't have the cutter for my circle stencil and used standard scissors and I HATE (with a passion) cutting circles!! lol :D
Supplies: Rose Red & Very Vanilla card; Raspberry Tart Paper; Eyelet Border Punch (NEW)
Thanks for looking,
Richelle

Mojo Monday

Here's my card for Mojo Monday - Week 86 (which was last Monday, but I haven't had a chance to post it!):
This is the sketch
And this is my card
I've used the Eastern Blooms stamp set, some retired papers, and Taken with Teal and Certainly Celery card stock. I've also used the same 2 colours for the main flower and the centre has dazzling diamonds on it. The flower has also been raised with a dimensional :)

Stampin' Supplies List

Just a quick note to say that in the coloumn on the righthand side is a link to the 2009-10 Stampin' Supplies as they are no longer at the back of the catalogue... The list was just getting too long for the catalogue and no-one wants to carry around an encyclopedia set! Thanks for looking, Richelle

Mother's Day Card

Hi Everyone, I hope my mum isn't really keen and happens to read my blog before I see her tomoro, but here's a quick pic of the little card and matching bookmark I've made to go with her present... The photo doesn't do it much justice but there is crystal effects over the flower to make it 3D and dazzling diamonds in the middle for a bit of bling :) And the bookmark is covered with a flower background wheel. If you like it, you'll have to borrow the set as its no longer avail..... I wasn't planning to blog this card but thought it was cute so I changed my mind :P It didn't take long to knock up last nite and the book mark with a little beading was so simple and fast. My mother in law also received a similar set tonite, but I didn't photograph it in time.... Oh and the layout was inspired by Makeesha's Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #7 (click here for her site - its absolutely marvellous what she can create!!!!!) Thanks for looking, Richelle

Mojo Monday #85

Here's my first completed Mojo Monday Challenge... Its for a friend who just had her first baby girl today! Congrats Stacey!! And I just love making girls cards cos you can make them so bright and pink!! LOL :)

And this card is of my own creation, and its for another friend who had a baby boy recently. I've actually used my 'crop-a-dile' to make holes all the way along the ribbon to put the brads in. I thought of this all by myself tonite (altho I guess I may have seen it done somewhere so I won't take all the credit). And the 'happy new baby' image has been raised off the page with some dimensionals

Eastern Blooms

Yay! I have been able to grab a second to take some quick pics of a couple of my recent cards... I've used the Eastern Blooms stamp set but some of the old 'in-colour' card. Hope you like them as I think this set will be one of my fav's out the new catalogue. Going for a monochromatic card...

This photo doesn't clearly show the words, but they are from 'Curvy Verses' and say "Wishing you fun and laughter forever after"

And this card, I've left blank..

Motivation, time and inspiration....

Just 3 of the things I hear so many ppl are looking for in so many areas of their lives. Don't worry, you're not alone! I seek to find these 3 things in many parts of my life too! In particular, my shortage of time to make cards and jewellery, 2 of my favourite hobbies but 2 things I rarely find myself doing....

Basically this mish-mash of a blog entry is to remind myself of my new years resolutions to make more time for the things I love and hope that you have been having success with your resolutions. Remember: "People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily." ~Zig Ziglar

So with my babies becoming young girls, this weeks aim is to make (not just find) more time to create cards. And I'll be posting some pics this week so don't stay away for too long.... And its highly likely that I'll post some pics of Charlotte's handiwork as she is already developing a love of making cards and loves to 'help' me out.

Thanks for reading my blah-blahing, and I promise to post those new pics soon!! Richelle xx

I'm itching to get back into it this week though in preparation for some upcoming workshops. And while I am on the subject, if anyone would like to host a workshop (and receive some free Stampin' Up products), now is a great time to book in for some Christmas cardmaking. More from me later in the week.. until then, take care and enjoy the sunshine if you're in Perth! Its perfect spring weather!!

Workshops are go!!!!

After taking the last couple of months off, due to having Emily join our family, workshops are now go!!! I am now looking forward to getting back into my workshops and catching up with everyone or meeting new people who want to learn more about cardmaking or scrapbooking. There's a couple of options available as I've worked out some "Hands on" workshops as well as my demo workshops. So, contact me for more info or to book in... And my aim for the next post is to have a scrapbook page or 2 of the girls!! Fingers crossed!!

Bareback Stamp Set

Here's a few new cards made with the "Bareback" stamp set. I tried the Faux Leather Technique for the background... And unfortunately in this pic, you can't see the writing but it says "The wind of heaven is that which blows between a horse's ears" And these 2 were using the new "In colour" cardstock... Sahara Sand, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky & Blue Bayou. The black braid was from my jar of ribbons. So whilst progess is slow, as there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day or enough hands to get very much cardmaking done, I am aiming to post some new cards each week.
