Another of Makeesha's Challenges

Hi Everyone,

Well it finally came together... This card was one that just didn't want to work for me... I had so many bits of cards and different centre images it was getting crazy!!! Anyway, this is what I came up with for Makeesha's Sketch Challenge #34

And this was the sketch I was using:

In the end, I'm happy with the result - now to work out what to do with all the leftovers... Can I take the easy option and just pop them into my daughters's craft box? hehhehhe

Mojo Monday & Makeesha's Challenge #34

Hi Everyone,

This is the first of 2 quick posts tonight. I had an enjoyable afternoon to myself - a rare event with 2 little kids and a hubby that used to time his early finishes very poorly and interrupt my free time! Sometimes I really do agree that having a husband is like having 3 kids... At least this one is big enough to help cook and clean sometimes.

So, this afternoon, I created this card using the colour challenge set by Makeesha Byl and the sketch layout from Mojo Monday (I don't remember the last time I took part in a mojo monday challenge before it closed.

And this is my card...

Looking at it tonight, there's a couple of things I'd change but I'm not really telling you that as there are no mistakes only a unique touch when it comes to card making! LOL!!

JAI Challenge #25 - 2nd entry

Me again.... Wow this is 3 posts now today! Amazing the little extras you can get done when the kids are distracted by dad being home from work on holidays.

Ok, this card I started using the sketch challenge from Makeesha Byl and the colour challenge from Just Add Ink as well (see my previous post for the colour challenge details or pop over and see it at the JAI site)

Now I don't know if it really qualifies, I've ended up with an extra stripe but still wanted to show it to you.

So this is the card:

I've run the card pieces through the crimper (some horizontally and some vertically), then distressed each piece and popped in a few brads. The robot (from Lots of Bots from the autumn mini catty) has been coloured with my aqua painter and soft suede, rose red and elegant eggplant ink pads.

Just Add Ink Challenge #16

Hi Everyone,

I have a couple of posts for you tonight! My card making mojo seems to be back! Yay! I've got a couple of cards to show you that were inspired by the Just Add Ink Challenge #16 (I think I've only missed a couple of them too! Go my new years resolution! lol)

The challenge was to use these colours:

And I've combined it with Makeesha's Inkspiration Challenge which can be found on Renee's site, a member of Keesha's Design Team,  due to a few tech problems that Keesh is having with her computer.

Here's my first card tonight:

I was probably a little too excited to see "Soft Suede" in a challenge- I bought a pack of this new In-Colour and have hardly touched it because I just couldn't decide what to do with it!! I'm so happy with my cards and that's why I've done more than 1 entry for JAI this week and I'll be back soon with the 2nd entry.

My second entry for Makeesha's Colour Challenge #21

This post is just a quick one to show my second entry for Makeesha's Colour Challenge #21

I've made this card for my mother and father in law for helping to look after my kids whilst I was away with my hubby:

Again, the images have been coloured by my Stampin' Write Markers and Aqua Painter (can you tell it's my fav tool at the moment).

The Red Gingham Ribbon has been threaded through holes punched by my Double Rectangle Punch and adhered on the back with some sticky strip.

The stamps are from A Flower for all Seasons, Sweet Little Sentiments (hostess reward) & Boho Backgrounds.

I have one for my mum too! But seeing as she reads my blog, it won't be posted yet (Hi Mum if you are reading this! {waves} )

Time for Makeesha's Challenge!

Hi Everyone,

Well, I've been busy over the last week... believe it or not, I have spent most of the week in Cairns (kid-free might I add). It was fabulously relaxing and very enjoyable not having to cook or clean anything!

Now, you may not have noticed my absence as I was actually organised enough to schedule blog posts throughout the week. And let me tell you, I was extremely relieved to see they had worked! I had no access to a computer until Saturday when I arrived back at home. However, they did all work, much to my relief and so I've been able to continue relaxing and make some more cards over this long wkend.

These cards are all based on Makeesha's Colour Challenge to use the following colours:

Ok this first one is my entry to the Colour Challenge #21. I've used "Tote-ally Tess" from the Autumn Mini Catalogue and coloured her with my Stampin' Write Markers and Aqua Painter.

Well, I stamped Tess onto my whisper white card, and then I ended up paper piercing (well I used I scapel so I think I can call it paper piercing) all the way around and then again around the bag.... Mmm very time consuming but I think it was worth the effort!

The Old Olive card went through the Crimper and the Real Red ribbon has been stapled ala Keesh's inspiration creation (couldn't help but case the ribbon idea - I thought it looked so effective and knew it would suit this card rather than a bow!)

I did add a little extra colour for Tess's hair (Creamy Caramel and Close to Cocoa markers) and a little Blush Blossom for her skin and mouth.

And this one I can only provide a sneak peek as it's on its way to a special someone who reads my blog :)

The full card and more details will come later this week!

An Inkspirations and a Just Add Ink Challenge

Well, I'm back with another Just Add Ink Challenge #12 but this time I've combined with with Makeesha's Inspiration Colour Challenge #20

The photo is a little rustic looking (I took it at night as I was too impatient to wait until this morning). Two kids under 3 don't exactly make good photography assistants, they tend to get in the photo or pinch my card and run off with it. However, I do believe the shadows add to the effect of my card.

So without any more blabbering, here's my card:

I've coloured the entire image with my Aqua Painter and I'm really happy with my detailing/shading.

Materials Used:
Card: Whisper White, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper - Close to Cocoa
Stamp Set: My Favorite Teddy (retired), "Sweet Things" sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments (Autumn Mini Catty)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Black Staz-on, Going Grey, Basic Grey, Barely Banana, Sahara Sand
Aqua Painter
Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon (from my stash)

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #17

Hi Everyone,

Tonight I've made a card for Makeeha's colour challenge - the 1st one for the New Year so I'm hoping I will be able to take part in each challenge this year (fingers crossed).

So the challenge Makeesha has set is to use these colours:

And I have to agree, Cameo Coral is not a colour favourite of mine either! So that's why I decided to make my card base and feature cameo coral - just to challenge myself that little bit extra lol  Happy

So, here's my card:

What do you think? Bit different for me but I'm happy with the end result. I used Baroque Motifs stamp set for the image. And the entire Whisper White piece as well as the flower have been lifted up with some dimensionals.

Thanks for looking,

ps: I should mention that the buttons aren't actually from Stampin' Up but were too good a buy at a 30% off sale I went to on Monday - In fact, I ended up with 2 packs of assorted buttons for $1.50 and they are in cute little plastic boxes... You can however get chocolate chip buttons from Stampin' Up in the Button Latte assorted pack for $15.50.

Fairy Punch Art

Hi All,
This is a busy time in Stampin' with Richelle land cos here's another post! Woohoo!! I'm sure I'm setting some records this week. lol :)
Ok, I've been trying all week to use Makeesha's Inkspirations Colour Challenge #12 and whilst I've had a few ideas, the 1 I'm about to show you is my favourite!!

I've been doing some searching for a fairy picture to use on Charlotte's 3rd b'day invites and came across this punch art fairy on a blog and I've traced the idea back to Samantha. I've changed the colours of my fairy to suit Makeesha's colour challenge. And I've used different sized circles for my fairy's head and body, and using the small circle punch, I've given my fairy a headband... awww......I've also doubled my fairy's wings and then covered them in dazzling diamonds.

And here's a pic of the card from the side so you can see my faux embossing of the regal rose love hearts...

Now the task is to make a whole heap of these over the wkend to hand out to Charlotte's friends. Maybe I will be able to rope in Lee to help with the punching out.

Hope you like my fairy as much as I do!! And if you would like any more details, please email me or leave a comment.  :D

Mother's Day Card

Hi Everyone, I hope my mum isn't really keen and happens to read my blog before I see her tomoro, but here's a quick pic of the little card and matching bookmark I've made to go with her present... The photo doesn't do it much justice but there is crystal effects over the flower to make it 3D and dazzling diamonds in the middle for a bit of bling :) And the bookmark is covered with a flower background wheel. If you like it, you'll have to borrow the set as its no longer avail..... I wasn't planning to blog this card but thought it was cute so I changed my mind :P It didn't take long to knock up last nite and the book mark with a little beading was so simple and fast. My mother in law also received a similar set tonite, but I didn't photograph it in time.... Oh and the layout was inspired by Makeesha's Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #7 (click here for her site - its absolutely marvellous what she can create!!!!!) Thanks for looking, Richelle
