Stars in my eyes

Hi Everyone,

Ok, now I do have 2 cards to show you as I promised yesterday but first I thought I'd try to explain my lateness for this post (seeing as I was going to post these pics yesterday!).... I have been working on a newsletter template so those that have signed up to receive my newsletter will get one soon and I'm going to find out how to put a button on my blog to sign up for my newsletter - you can already sign up for the blog updates.. And I've also added a decent header onto my blog.... Look up and you'll see "Stampin' with Richelle' is a proper little picture now and not just plain old writing.

Anyway, the other reason for not making many cards lately is the state of my desk.... Ummmm a picture speaks a 1000 words so here goes:

And I hate to admit it, but its over the floor too...

Right so, amongst a million other things, my New Year's Resolution is to keep my stamping area a little bit cleaner! But to be honest, if it was spotless, I'd be thinking I was ill! My desk even when I was at school was always a mess. I'm a huge culprit of racing in when my girls are asleep, making something and leaving the mess for another time and that other time just never happens! lol  Goofy How many other ppl are like that!??!

Anyway, enuf chat, here's the 2 cards I've made, I've actually used the star from the Christmas Classics stamp set and the "happy birthday" is from retired set.

Then I liked the layout so much, I did one with a different base colour - Garden Green instead of Pacific Point.

And seeing as its kinda cheating to show 2 cards of the same design, here's a 3rd card for you...

See the little frame around the bird - that's 1 from a free stamp set you could earn during Sale-a-bration! Come back on 25th January to view a copy of the Sale-a-bration catalogue online! Its very nice!!  Roll

Wow - 3 posts in 2 days, I hope you didn't fall off your chair in shock!

Thanks for looking,

Reaching your Sale-a-bration Goal(s)

After my post yesterday, I just thought give you a few tips on how to reach your goals during the Sale-a-bration promotion and calm your worries about reaching your target for your free stamp set via your order or workshop.

So here's my tips:

To reach a $600 workshop, it can be as easy as $50 from 12 ppl - this can even be from outside orders if someone can't make it to your workshop. And finding 12 ppl can be easy - there's work colleagues, family and friends. Or team up with a friend and invite 6 ppl each - see its not soo hard!

Now to reach a $100 order and earn 1 free stamp set, think about a stamp set on your wishlist... Right have you been able to pick one? If you don't already have a wishlist, click here to view the catalogue online (both the full 2010 Idea book and Catalogue and the NEW Summer Mini Catalogue can be found on this link!)

Then add a pack of card (either a full pack of 1 colour $10.50 or an assorted pack $14.50)....

Then add the right ink colours $11.95 each.....

Some ribbon and/or embellishments....

Make sure you have plenty of adhesive... There's lots of different adhesives to choose from but I like the SNAIL or to add a bit extra to your project, the Dimensionals are fantastic!

And TA-DA!!! SmileyCentral.com You're there! Now all you have to do is phone or email me with your order and you can have it within about a week! WOOOHOOO!!

ps: You can earn a free stamp set for every $100 you spend, so you just might be able to earn them all! lol :)

Stamp 'n' Stack Results

Hi Everyone! Merry Christmas!!! But pheww, as much as I love Christmas, I sure was glad to sit back and relax today! Time has been flying past in the lead up to Christmas so I was very grateful to hardly do a thing all day today.... lol - I even managed to have a sleep-in as the girls were up late last nite at my family xmas dinner and that was after a big lunch at our house for my hubby's family,so they were extremely tired girls today but thankfully only slightly grumpy.

In my quiet day, I realised today that I haven't posted either of the projects from the Stamp 'n' Stack in November or the recent December SAS.... Ooops! :P So here's 2 quick pics of the 2 projects:

Stamp 'n' Stack November
We used the 'Spotlight on Christmas' Stamp Set, scallop cirle punch, scallop square punch (it was my brand new toy!), 2 circle punches, 1 square punch, crimper, dimensionals. And I must say a big thank you to my sideline demonstrator Andrea as I cased her Christmas card layouts and borrowed her stamp set! So a BIG BIG Thank you!

Stamp 'n' December
We used the 'I wish' scrapbooking kit and not a single stamp was used! The album was designed by Andrea Walford, an extremely talented Canadian Stampin' Up Demonstrator. This was my first time teaching something other than a card or a box, so I thank my ladies for being so patient with me on the day. The album on the left was my original and the one on the right is what I made on the day.

If you like this album, I'm going to do another class but with a Mother's Day theme around March-April next year, so don't forget to check back to see when the class is scheduled. I received a new diary from my MIL so will work out my Class Calender soon and post all the details!!

2 Baby Cards

Hi,

Here's 2 quick baby cards I've made for friends... One was a 1st b'day card and the other for a friend whose bub is on the way :)

Isn't it easy to make? I just changed the colour of the teddy and the sentiments as we don't know whether my friend is having a boy or a girl and the blue teddy is perfect for a little boys 1st b'day! Both teddies have been coloured with my Stampin' Write Markers.

The Teddy bear is from a retired set, My Favorite Teddy, but everything else is current including the fresh stripey paper from the Washington Apple DSP. The little red bird & present have been stamped seperately and added to the card on a dimensional. Oh and the words are also adhered with dimensionals.

Colours: Riding hood red, Bashful Blue & Glossy White card. Stazon Black Ink

Hello! Can you believe its already the end of Nov!??

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick hello and to let you know that I am working on some projects at the moment.... I've been extra busy this week playing mum and dad to the girls as my hubby has been away plus my lil' bub burnt her feet in hot sand on Tues so we went for our first ever trip to the Emergency room at the hospital. Luckily, the blisters looked worse than what they seem to be as it has not slowed her down at all. It's amazing how resilient kids can be!!

So amongst all that I have made some more Christmas cards, as well as prepping for my Stamp 'n' Stack tomorrow night. I will post the pics over the wkend! Plus some sneak peaks of some new stamp sets soon to be released!

Hitting the right spot with men's cards

Hi Everyone,

I don't know about you, but I'm nearly always stumped when it comes to men's cards... I just find them challenging as you can't do flowers and make it pretty lol :)

Well in an attempt to overcome this problem I pulled out my Seeing Spots stamp set from the cupboard and made this men's card some time ago... I actually demonstrated it at a recent workshop as part of a focus on layering your card to add extra 'ooomph' and on this card its simply by adding the 3 big spots punched out with the 1.25" punch, raising the centre one on a dimensional and then stamping the background spots on vellum. Easy ways to add extra but without making it girly and just using a simple layout with no fuss.

Rubbing you the right way...

Hi all,

These are 3 quick note cards that I made using the rub-ons from the Bright Delights pack. The words have been stamped on the 2 cards with owls... And the weird thing is I was photographing the 'perfect pear' card when sesame street was on the telly and bert was playing the 'perfect pair' game! Bit freaky!!

These cards all use Tangerine Tango as the base card and the layers are chocolate chip, whisper white and kiwi kiss.

The little owl in the middle card is from the Forest Friends stamp set in the Spring Mini Catty and he's actually sitting up on a dimensional but unfortunately my photo doesn't show the height.

The 'Look who's turning (  )' stamp is from On your birthday stamp set.

For any more info, please leave me a comment or email me :)

Organic Grace Cards

Hi Everyone,

I thought I'd show you a pic of a flower that in my garden at the moment (a gladioli). This is the first time in 4yrs that its had this big a flower (I've only taken a pic of the top half as the other part had wilted!).. Last year I managed to chop the flower off with the hedge trimmer and so I moved it to a new spot where there will be no hedge trimming... lol

So after seeing this flower blooming over the last couple of weeks, I thought I'd better use the Organic Grace stamp set I've had in the cupboard for a little while (isn't it always the way..I had the best of intentions when I picked out this set to stamp more often but as usual time is too short!). Here's 2 cards I've made....

This card I actually demonstrated on the wkend at a workshop and added a little extra sponging around the whisper white card of the flower and word images and also sponged regal rose and old olive on the corresponding card... Amazing the difference it makes, so I will have to make another and post a pic for you to compare :)

Oh I should mention that the Organic Grace stamp set is 1 of the Level 1 hostess sets, and the words "To you from me' is 1 stamp from the Best yet stamp set, which is another hostess set.

Stampin' Up Regionals Perth 2009

WOW!!! I had the best of best days yesterday (Although it was VERY tiring!!). I spent the day at Perth Regional Conference for Stampin' Up. Its the first time I've been and soo worth it! I learnt lots of new techniques, saw some sneak peeks of the new mini catty and some extra news on SU as a company. It was also a great opportunity to meet other demo's here in Perth and all over WA.

A big part of the day is the swaps. This is when we swap card fronts that we've made with other demos. I made 2 different swaps as I couldn't decide which I liked best. The first was a bright & colourful girly card made with the Garden Whimsy Stamp Set. The colours are Pink Passion, Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac and Whisper White.

My second swap is one of the cards used for my October Stamp 'n' Stacks. A simple, clean Christmas card usingthe Christmas Classics stamp set and only 2 colours. Or perhaps I should say a monochromatic (1 colour - Night of Navy) card with 1 neutral (Whisper White). The edges of the centre card pieces have been lightly distressed on all layers and the ribbon was tied through holes punched into the card with my double rectangle punch.

This is a pic of my haul of cards (and yes I do say haul because there are a lot!!) Thank you to everyone who swapped with me! :D There are some wonderful cards here and I will be casing a lot of them.

Throughout the day there were lots of presentations from SU staff, inc Bonnie from the USA (she was an absolute crackup... She was so funny and showed us some great colour wheel tips and techniques that I can't wait to try out.

We also heard from 6 great WA's demos inc one of my friends Andrea, with different workshop wows and I can't wait to show you some of these new techniques. Its a pity my daughter Charlotte doesn't sleep anymore during the day, I've lost my stamping time...Never mind, I'll fit some in somewhere! lol :)

All in all, it was a fantastic day and I can't wait to do it all over again next year lol :P

ps:  Did I mention one of the best parts was that my girls had a sleepover at their Nan's house on Friday night and when I picked them up yesterday, they already had tea & baths and they were so tired they fell asleep in the car on the way home, transferred them straight to bed all before 6.30pm! Which meant I could relax for the night, so much so I was in bed myself by 9pm -ahhhhh Thanks Mum!!!!!! :)

A card for a cowgirl...

Hi Everyone,

On Saturday, the girls and I went to a friend's 3rd b'day. She had a hoe-down theme for her party so the girls and I got dressed up in our denim skirts and shirts (I even had plaited pigtails). It was a real scorcher weather-wise with 35degrees so it was too hot for the planned overalls and boots. Anyway, this is a quick pic of the card I made (it was taken on my new mobile so its not the best quality but you can still get the idea of it). I cased the background layout from a card given to me by Lee-Anne, so thanks for the idea :)

Card: Regal Rose & Whisper White
Sweet Always Designer Series Paper
Hemp twine
And I don't normally do this but both the stamp sets I've used have retired :( They were the "Its your b'day" & "Bareback" sets)

Stamp 'n' Stack September

Hi Everyone,

Here's a pic of the 2 cards made at my Stamp 'n' Stack September. I've used the "Tree Trimmings" Stamp set from the Spring Mini Catty (avail until Nov 30th).

Card Stock: Garden Green & Very Vanilla
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Garden Green and Basic Black
Ribbon: Vanilla grosgrain

For this card, we sponged the Whisper White Craft Ink over a piece of Real Red for a frosted look to add a bit extra to the card.
